Melon Sandbox maps and worlds
Last checked 2026-10-29 · melon sandbox maps, map editor
I opened the community Maps page and counted the table instead of trusting the intro sentence. The names in the table are Default, Blade, Moon, Flatgrass, Mountain, Stairs, Tiny, Acid Pool, Water Pool, Skate, Hills, Highway, Lava Map, Endless Ocean, Volcano, and Endless City. That is 16. The intro still says 12, so neither number should be presented as an official current total.
Change map
- From the main menu, start a new save; the reviewed community guide describes map choice from the new-save flow.
- Use the map picker. The wiki says version 27.0 rebuilt that screen, but the exact current gesture is not documented in the reviewed sources.
- Enter the map. Public videos show returning to the menu and picking another map to switch; no in-level Leave button is established here.
Editor and shared worlds
The editor arrived in version 6.0 (31 Jan 2022). The wiki dates a map editor pass to 27.0 and a world editor pass to 31.0. The official channel's 30 Aug 2025 video, "Create your OWN WORLD," shows Worlds, sensors, and chips used as a small game. Sharing that result is a .melsave, which is the same file type as any other contraption save.
Questions people ask
How many maps are there?
The wiki table lists 16 names. The same article's introduction says 12. I am not forcing those into one number.
What is a map code?
I found no official map-code feature. People share .melsave files instead. Treat a bare numeric "code" post as unverified.
How do I leave a map?
Public videos show returning to the main menu and picking another map. I did not find an in-level Leave button in the docs.
