A parent guide to Melon Sandbox

I compared three first-party age fields on 29 October 2026 instead of repeating a forum's 18+ label. Google Play says Teen and names Violence and Blood, plus user interaction and in-app purchases. The App Store page says 16+ and lists frequent cartoon or fantasy violence and guns, infrequent realistic violence and horror, plus unrestricted web access, advertising, and user-generated content. Apple's own lookup API returned 17+ the same day. Both Apple figures stay on this page.

What the descriptors mean in practice

Each storefront rating and purchase range has a single source, that store. Apple's web page and lookup API belong to the same provider, so they are not independent corroboration. The 16+ / 17+ disagreement is retained above, not averaged. The $0.49–$259.99 range is a US Google Play field, not an Apple price list. These are ratings and purchase disclosures, not a security certification.

• The October 2026 collaboration adds horror characters from Poppy Playtime.
• Workshop files are player-made. A rating on the base game does not review every mod.
• Ads and purchases are disclosed on both store pages.

Controls that exist outside the game

On iPhone, Screen Time can block apps above a content rating and can require a password for purchases. On Android, Family Link can block the app and purchases. I am pointing at Apple's and Google's own parent-control pages rather than inventing a menu path that those companies rename.
